GRACE COMMUNITY CHURCH

Mitch and Betsy Misak

Ministry Description

Mitch and Betsy are full-time missionaries with SEND International, whose mission statement is to mobilize God's people and engage the unreached in order to establish reproducing churches. Mitch has a long history with SEND, serving in Poland since 2010. He loves his role in church planting, partnering with the local church in Poland. His roles include preaching, teaching, equipping, and discipling new believers. His love of sports and the outdoors helps him to connect with men and youth, and he has much experience in camp ministry and sports outreach. In December 2021, he married Betsy, another Michigander from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Betsy also has experience living overseas, completing a study abroad program in Costa Rica in 2016. Betsy has a passion for reaching adults by teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) and is currently completing her Master’s in TESOL. She has been serving in her local church on the worship team for over a decade and loves to share her faith with others. Mitch & Betsy are serving in Legnica, Poland and helping to start a new church.

Ministry Calling

Through various short-term trips abroad, God kindled a passion for missions in Mitch’s heart as a teenager. Right after finishing bible school at Frontier School of the Bible, Mitch knew he wanted to serve in a full-time capacity. He had not considered Europe at first, but a mobilizer at Frontier had encouraged him to look at his family roots. Mitch’s father is half Czech and half Polish, so Mitch decided to serve here praying that the Lord would give him direction. He signed on to be a short-term missionary with SEND International in the Czech Republic during the summer of 2010. He then served in Poland for a year. After serving in Europe, Mitch felt called to continue ministering to the Polish people. He spent two years in language school learning the Polish language and culture in Krakow and then helped train up Polish nationals in a church plant in Opole, Poland from 2015-2021. Mitch is excited as he and his new bride begin a new work in Legnica, Poland.

Family Life

Mitch & Betsy are both from the Grand Rapids area. They enjoy spending time with their families, board games, volleyball and basketball, camping, and being outdoors. They are social and enjoy spending time with people over meals and coffee. Mitch is avid fisherman and outdoorsman, and Betsy has a love for music and singing.
