High School Ministry Director

Job Type:

Part-time, Hourly (24 hours/week)

Next Generation Pastor

Role Summary:

Our vision at Grace Community Church is to see Christ exalted in every heart and every home in West Michigan and beyond. In order to accomplish that goal, we encounter God, train the found, and seek the lost. Our High School students are eager to learn and grow in their identity in Christ. As you consider this position, we are looking for someone who will join us in furthering this vision and mission through our High School Ministry.

The primary role of the High School Ministry Director is to care for the body by leading and overseeing the High School Ministry (9th - 12th grade). The ideal candidate is one who has a vibrant love for the Lord and others, contagious love for high schoolers, and a passion to lead others to be more Christlike. You will have the opportunity to take a thriving and growing High School Ministry to the next level in discipleship, leadership, and multiplication. You will team up with kids ministry and middle school ministry to lead students through spiritual development. Role and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee / develop / teach Sunday night curriculum
  • Oversee / develop / teach student discipleship groups
  • Recruit, provide vision, and develop leadership in the ministry volunteer team
  • Oversee discipleship and leadership development for High School students
  • Provide leadership in planning, communication, and execution of retreats, outreach, and other ministry events
  • Facilitate effective communication to ministry leaders, parents, and students
  • Execute necessary administrative and organizational tasks to further the ministry
  • Partner with Next Generation Pastor to equip parents for discipling their kids
  • Collaborate with kids ministry and student ministry for effective spiritual development
  • Participate in staff meetings and collaboration for church wide events
  • Report regularly to the Next Generation Pastor

Qualifications:

  • He must be a follower of Jesus Christ with evidence of spiritual maturity
  • Demonstrate a clear call and desire for vocational ministry
  • Evidence of gifts and abilities required to minister effectively to High School students
  • Experience reaching, teaching and discipling High Schoolers effectively
  • Flexibility with seasonal changes and sudden demands of shepherding students
  • Member of Grace Community Church (can become a member within 3 months of hire)
  • In full agreement with the doctrinal statement of Grace Community Church
  • Live within the community of Grace Community Church

Benefits:

  • 77 hours paid-time off vacation, annually (equivalent to 3.2 weeks of average weekly hours)
